InternetCalls Rates & Alternatives: What Betamax Doesn’t Tell You (2026)

July 10, 20269 min readBubblyPhone Team

InternetCalls real rates in 2026: India 2¢, Pakistan 6.8¢ — but “free” needs Freedays that expire, rates change daily, and it’s one of ~40 identical Betamax brands. Full rate table + honest alternatives.

InternetCalls rates and alternatives — what the Betamax brands don't tell you

InternetCalls.com is one of roughly 40 near-identical VoIP brandsoperated by the same Luxembourg company (Dellmont S.à r.l., widely known as the “Betamax” network — VoipBuster, VoipStunt, 12VoIP, CheapVoip and SmartVoip are all siblings). Its rates look unbeatable on paper, and for a handful of destinations they genuinely are. The catch is everything around the rates: “free” calls that stop being free when your Freedays lapse, prices that change daily without notice, a 5¢ setup fee on phone-to-phone calls, and a support desk that most users describe as a black hole.

If you came here looking for the InternetCalls rates chart, it's below — along with the conditions the pricing page doesn't put next to the numbers, and what to use instead if you've had enough of rate roulette.

InternetCalls Rates in 2026: The Actual Numbers

InternetCalls doesn't publish a flat rate chart — you have to use their lookup tool per destination, and the site itself warns rates “are subject to change without notice.” These are the rates shown on the independent Betamax rate trackers as of July 2026 (in euro cents per minute):

DestinationLandlineMobileWatch out for
USA / Canada“Free”*“Free”**Only with active Freedays + 5¢ setup fee per phone-to-phone call
India2¢2¢Sister brands price the same route from 1–9¢
Bangladesh3¢3.2¢Cheap routes often mean one-way audio periods
Pakistan6.8¢6.8¢Has jumped multiple times since 2024
Philippines11¢14¢Not competitive — other services beat this
Nigeria12¢12¢Not competitive
UK130¢35¢Yes, really — €1.30/min to a UK landline on the tracked route. This is the rate-roulette problem in one number.

Rates from independent Betamax rate-comparison trackers, July 2026, in euro cents/min. InternetCalls updates rates daily; always re-check inside your account before a long call.

How the “Free Calls” Actually Work (Freedays, Explained)

The headline promise — free calls to the USA, Canada, and a rotating list of European destinations — comes with a mechanism the homepage doesn't explain up front:

  1. Free destinations are only free while you have “Freedays”— a countdown that starts when you buy credit (typically €10 minimum)
  2. Freedays last roughly 90–120 days; when they expire, calls to “free” destinations silently start billing at the normal rate
  3. Free calling is capped at 300 minutes per week per IP address, measured over a rolling 7 days — exceed it and normal rates apply
  4. Phone-to-phone calls carry a 5¢ setup fee even to free destinations
  5. Your purchased credit itself can expire after long inactivity — users report losing balances they thought were parked

None of this is illegal — it's in the terms. But it means “free” is really “bundled with a €10 top-up you must renew a few times a year,” and the moment you stop paying attention, the meter starts running.

The Betamax Clone-Brand Problem

This is the part that makes InternetCalls hard to recommend even when its rate for your destination happens to be good today. Dellmont operates dozens of visually near-identical VoIP brands — VoipBuster, VoipStunt, 12VoIP, CheapVoip, SmartVoip, LowRateVoip, InternetCalls and many more. The same call routed through two sister brands can differ in price by 5–10×, and the “free destination” lists rotate between brands over time.

  • Veteran users maintain accounts on 3–4 sister brands and check a comparison site before every call
  • Rates are updated daily, so yesterday's cheapest brand isn't today's
  • Credit does not transfer between the brands, even though it's the same company
  • Support requests across the network are widely reported as unanswered

The honest summary: the Betamax network is a rate arbitrage game. If you enjoy checking comparison tables before each call and topping up four accounts, the euro rates can be excellent. If you just want to dial a number and know what it costs, the model works against you.

Which Should You Use?

📊

“I want a predictable rate I can see before I dial”

BubblyPhone — published per-country rate card, no setup fees, no expiring Freedays, calls from your browser. India from $0.01/min.

💬

“The person I call has a smartphone”

WhatsApp or Viber — genuinely free app-to-app, unlimited, no Freedays arithmetic. Both sides need the app.

🔁

“I call one country daily, hours at a time”

Rebtel — an unlimited-calling subscription to a single country can beat any per-minute rate at high volume.

🎲

“I actually enjoy the Betamax rate game”

Then keep InternetCalls — but hold accounts on 2–3 sister brands, bookmark a rate tracker, and set a reminder for your Freedays expiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is InternetCalls still working in 2026?
Yes. InternetCalls.com is operational in 2026 and remains part of the Betamax/Dellmont network. The desktop-era softphone client and the account dashboard both still function, though the product has seen little visible development in years.
Why did my free InternetCalls calls suddenly start costing money?
Almost always one of three reasons: your Freedays expired (they only last ~90–120 days after a top-up), you crossed the 300-minutes-per-week free-call cap, or the destination was quietly moved off the free list. Check your Freedays counter in the account dashboard first.
Are InternetCalls and VoipBuster the same company?
Yes — both are brands of Dellmont S.à r.l. (Luxembourg), the operator behind the Betamax family of VoIP services. The brands share infrastructure but keep separate balances and separate (often very different) rates for the same destination.
What is the cheapest InternetCalls alternative for India?
For calling Indian numbers, BubblyPhone at $0.01/min is comparable to InternetCalls' 2 euro-cent rate but with a published, stable rate card and browser calling. For app-to-app, WhatsApp is free and nearly universal in India — see our free calling apps for India guide.
Is my InternetCalls credit refundable?
In practice, no. Users report that refund requests to Betamax-network brands go unanswered, and dormant credit can expire under the terms. Treat any top-up as spent the moment you make it.

Done With Rate Roulette?

One balance, one published rate card, calls from your browser. No Freedays, no setup fees, no sister brands.
