Troubleshooting Common Issues
Fix common BubblyPhone issues. Solve audio problems, calls not connecting, microphone not detected, balance discrepancies, and browser compatibility.
Most calling issues are caused by browser permissions, network conditions, or other apps using your microphone. Below are the most common problems and how to fix them.
I can't hear anything
- Check that your browser has microphone permission for bubblyphone.com. Click the lock icon in your address bar to see the current permission status.
- Make sure your headphones or speakers are connected and not muted.
- Check your system volume. On Windows, click the speaker icon in the taskbar. On Mac, use the volume keys or check System Settings → Sound.
- Try refreshing the page.
- Try a different browser. Chrome generally works best with BubblyPhone.
My calls keep failing
- Use the Test Connection feature on the Dialer page to check if your network supports voice calls.
- If you are on mobile data, switch to Wi-Fi. Mobile networks sometimes block or throttle voice-over-internet traffic.
- Try Chrome or Firefox. Safari has limited support for WebRTC, the technology that powers browser-based calling.
- Close other apps that may be using your microphone, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet.
- If you are on a phone, download the iOS or Android app for better reliability on mobile devices.
The other person can't hear me
- Your microphone may be in use by another application. Close Zoom, Teams, or any other calling or meeting apps before placing your call.
- Check browser permissions: click the lock iconin the address bar and make sure Microphone is set to "Allow" for bubblyphone.com.
- If you have multiple microphones (for example, a headset and a built-in mic), try switching to a different one in your system audio settings.
- Refresh the page and try the call again.
I was charged but the call didn't work
If a call shows as "Completed" with a charge, it means the other person did briefly answer — even if just for a few seconds. Sometimes this happens when the call is picked up by voicemail or an automated system. If you believe the charge is incorrect, go to Call History, tap the call, and click Report Issue. Our team will investigate the call records and refund if appropriate.
My balance didn't update after top-up
Try refreshing the page first. If the balance still has not updated:
- Go to Settings → Billing and check your transaction history. If the payment appears there, the credit should be on your account — try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac).
- If the payment went through but the credit was not added, email hello@bubblyphone.com with your payment receipt and we will resolve it.
I can't log in
- If you signed up with Google, make sure you are clicking the "Sign in with Google" button, not entering an email and password.
- If you forgot your password, click "Forgot Password" on the login page to receive a reset link by email.
- Double-check that you are using the correct email address — the one you used when you first created your account.
- Clear your browser cookies for bubblyphone.com and try again. Sometimes stale session data can prevent login.
