Privacy Policy — World Dialing Codes Chrome Extension
Last Updated: February 17, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how the "World Dialing Codes" Chrome extension ("the Extension"), developed by Inhype Live Limited trading as BubblyPhone, handles user data. The Extension is a browser toolbar tool for looking up international dialing codes, local times, and calling rates.
Developer: Inhype Live Limited (Company Number: 13379772) Contact: hello@bubblyphone.com
2. What Data Does This Extension Collect?
The Extension collects minimal data, limited to what is necessary for its core functionality.
2.1 Authentication Token (Optional)
If you choose to sign in with your BubblyPhone account, the Extension stores your authentication token locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This token is used to:
- Fetch your account balance
- Load your contacts and recent call history
- Display low balance notifications
This token never leaves your device except to authenticate API requests to bubblyphone.com.
2.2 Cached Balance (Optional)
For logged-in users, the Extension caches the account balance locally to display it in the toolbar badge.
2.3 No Browsing Data Collected
The Extension does not collect, access, or transmit:
- Your browsing history
- The content of any web pages you visit
- Your IP address, location, or device fingerprint
- Any personally identifiable information beyond your BubblyPhone auth token
3. How the Extension Works
3.1 Country Directory & Rate Checker (No Account Required)
The country directory data (country names, dialing codes, flags, time zones, and approximate rates) is bundled within the Extension and loaded locally. No network requests are made for the country directory.
When you use the rate checker and enter a phone number, the Extension sends only the phone number to bubblyphone.com/api/rates/lookup-number to retrieve the exact per-minute rate. No other data is transmitted with this request.
3.2 BubblyPhone Account Features (Sign-in Required)
If you sign in with a BubblyPhone account, the Extension communicates with bubblyphone.com to:
- Fetch your account balance (
/api/billing/balance) - Fetch your contacts (
/api/contacts) - Fetch your recent call history (
/api/calls/history)
These API calls include your authentication token and return only your account data. No additional information is collected or transmitted.
3.3 Token Synchronisation
A content script runs on bubblyphone.com only (not on any other website) to detect when you log in or log out. It reads the authentication token from the bubblyphone.com page and stores it in the Extension's local storage. This script:
- Only runs on
bubblyphone.com - Only reads the authentication token
- Does not access or modify any other page content
4. Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's extension storage API:
| Data | Storage Location | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Auth token | chrome.storage.local |
API authentication |
| Cached balance | chrome.storage.local |
Toolbar badge display |
| Low balance notification flag | chrome.storage.local |
Prevent duplicate alerts |
No data is stored on external servers by the Extension. Your BubblyPhone account data (balance, contacts, calls) is stored on bubblyphone.com servers as part of the BubblyPhone service — see the BubblyPhone Privacy Policy for details.
5. Third-Party Services
The Extension does not use:
- Analytics or tracking services (no Google Analytics, no telemetry)
- Advertising networks
- Any third-party SDKs or libraries
The only external service the Extension communicates with is bubblyphone.com for the features described above.
