Argentina uses the country code +54. With approximately 250,000 Argentine-Americans in the US and Argentina being a major business partner, calls between the two countries are frequent.
The 2024 Numbering Change
Argentina simplified its phone numbering in 2024. Previously, calling Argentine mobile numbers from abroad required inserting a "9" after the country code and dropping a "15" from the local number. This was confusing and error-prone.
The new system (2024 onwards): All Argentine numbers — landline and mobile — are now dialled the same way from abroad. No more "9" insertion or "15" removal.
