Pick their language
Choose what the other person speaks. Your own language is detected automatically — and you can switch languages mid-call.
Talk normally
Speak sentence by sentence. An AI voice interprets you to them and them to you, with a natural 1–2 second interpreter pause after each sentence.

A short greeting tells the person you call that the call is translated. Keep the default, record your own text and voice, or switch it off — in Settings → Live Translation.
An interpreter's rhythm
Expect a 1–2 second pause after each sentence while the AI voice speaks it in the other language — like a human interpreter, not a dubbed movie. Speak in sentences and it flows naturally.

How does live call translation work?
Turn on Live Translation in the BubblyPhone dialer, pick the language the other person speaks, and dial any number. You talk normally in your own language — it is detected automatically, and you can even switch languages mid-call. An AI interpreter voice speaks your words to them in their language, and speaks their words back to you in yours, sentence by sentence.
What does the person I call hear?
They hear a natural AI voice speaking their language. At the start of the call a short greeting tells them the call is being translated, so nobody is confused. You can keep the default greeting, record your own custom text and voice, or turn it off entirely in Settings → Live Translation.
Which languages are supported?
62 languages, from Spanish, Chinese and Arabic to Welsh, Swahili and Icelandic. You choose the other person's language; yours is detected automatically and can change mid-call.
How much does it cost?
Translation costs $0.20 per minute on top of the normal call rate — no subscription, no credit packs. Example: a call to a Spanish landline is about $0.02/min, so with translation you pay roughly $0.22/min all-in. You only pay for the minutes you talk.
Is there a delay?
Yes — expect a 1–2 second interpreter pause after each sentence, like talking through a human interpreter. Say a sentence, let it be spoken, and listen for the reply. It is not word-for-word simultaneous speech, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Do I get a transcript?
Yes. During the call you see live bilingual captions — what each side said, in both languages. After you hang up, the full transcript is saved to your call history.
Is it an app? What does the other person need to install?
No app on either side. You call from your browser at bubblyphone.com — the dialer works on any computer or phone. The person you call needs nothing at all: no app, no account, no smartphone. It is an ordinary phone call to them, so even landlines work.
What does "Beta" mean here?
Live Translation is new and improving. Voices and translation quality get better continuously, and occasionally a sentence may come out awkward. Calls themselves are the same reliable calls BubblyPhone always makes — the beta label applies to the translation layer only.
